ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of English has established with UG Course (B.A English) in the year 2009 and as per the university rule the total number of the intake is 60. The PG Course has started in the year 2016 and maximum intake is 35. The Department of English offers Under Graduate Course (B.A. English) and Post Graduate Course (M.A English). The department conducts Guest Lecture programs, workshops and literary activities like debates, elocutions, mime programs, etc. for developing the literary knowledge of the students. The department conducts Bridge Course for the first year students to develop their communication skills. The individual faculty conducts Book Review every week for third year UG students and all PG students. Faculties train the students and send to various colleges to participate in many academic oriented programs like seminar, conference, workshop and cultural competitions. The department arranges special classes for competitive exams like UGC NET, TNPSC, BANK and Railway Examinations. The department has been producing good results continuously. The department creates well equipped platform to discuss and to argue various topics like social issues, feminism, gender equality, history etc.  It will help students to shape their knowledge with academic field. The students will shine with quality of knowledge in literature, when they go out after finishing their course. The department offers campus interview to place the students in various fields through the Training and Placement Centre.

 Our Vision is to  strengthen the students with  liberal education  by developing the language skills and  literary knowledge

MISSION:

• To develop the students’ LSRW skills through various activities like oratorical competition, creating writing, etc.
• With well equipped syllabus, the faculties mould the students in fulfillment of their career.
• To enrich their communication skills in language, the department conducts various programs through workshops, literary movies, and literary clubs.with everyday experiences for all students especially the rural students.
