MIET ARTS & SCIENCE COLLEGE and Department of Physics have organized a seminar today on “Vibrational Spectroscopy” in College Seminar Hall on 07.08.2019 at 10.00 am. Er. A. Mohamed Yunus, Chairman presided over and Dr.J. Anthoni Raj, Principal felicitated. Dr.V.Balachandran, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Arignar Anna Govt. Arts College, Musiri, was the chief guest. He explained how light radiation interacts with matter (objects) thereby inducing vibrations of atoms and molecules in them. He also explicated with the grasp and lucid manner, the different types of vibrational modes giving rise to characteristic spectra. He showed how various spectroscopic parameters are calculated using exclusive and designated software tools theoretically.Finally, he concluded with giving emphasize on application of this field in pharmacy   and drug production where the possible routes are explored to find out new drugs for various elusive diseases. Through this seminar, the students would be able to choose their higher study option and research as their carrier.
