Eligibility for Admission
General Guidelines for U.G. Admissions
A pass in SSLC and Higher Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination conducted by the State Government or any other recognized board.
Students from outside Tamil Nadu must produce an Eligibility Certificate from Bharathidasan University.
Students from outside India must provide a Clearance Certificate from Bharathidasan University.
Undergraduate Courses
Undergraduate Courses (UG)
B.A. English
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 from any recognized board.
B.Com, B.B.A, and B.Com (CA)
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 with Commerce and Accountancy.
Note: 20% of seats may be reserved for students from the Vocational Stream.
B.C.A., B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Sc. Data Science
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 with Mathematics as one of the core subjects.
B.Sc. Biochemistry
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 with Chemistry and Biology as core subjects.
B.Sc. Mathematics
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 with Mathematics as one of the core subjects.
B.Sc. Microbiology
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 with Biology as one of the core subjects.
B.Sc. Physics
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics.
Postgraduate Courses (PG)
M.A. English
Eligibility : A pass in B.A. English Literature or any degree with English as Part II Language.
M.Com
Eligibility : A pass in B.Com, Bank Management, Computer Applications, Financial Management, B.Com (Applied), Co-operation, B.B.A., or other related programs equivalent to B.Com.
M.C.A. (Master of Computer Applications)
Eligibility : A bachelor’s degree in any of the following:
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Electronics, or Applied Science (with Mathematics as an allied or major subject).
B.Com., B.B.A., or B.E./B.Tech. (except Computer Science in Engineering Branch).
PGDCA or equivalent qualification.
M.C.A. Lateral Entry
Eligibility : A pass in PGDCA, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Information Technology, B.C.A., or B.Sc. Software Development.
M.Sc. Computer Science
Eligibility : A pass in B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Information Technology, B.C.A., or B.Sc. Software Development from a recognized university.
B.Sc. Microbiology
Eligibility : A pass in 10+2 with Biology as one of the core subjects.
B.Sc. Biochemistry
Eligibility : A bachelor’s degree in any of the following:
Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Genetics, Medicine, Agriculture, Life Sciences, Chemistry, or Pharmacy from a recognized university in India or abroad.
Research Courses
M.A. English
Eligibility : Master’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks or a CGPA of 5.51 in Commerce.
Candidates who have completed graduation/post-graduation via distance learning or open university mode are also eligible.
Candidates with CA, CFA, ACS, or ICWAI along with a basic graduation degree can apply.
SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5% relaxation in the prescribed minimum marks.
Regularly employed teachers in this university or its affiliated colleges are eligible.
Ph.D. (Commerce) – Full-Time/Part-Time
Eligibility : A Master’s degree (10+2+3+2 pattern or equivalent) with not less than 55% marks or CGPA of 5.51 in the 10-point scale under CBCS.
Fields : Arts, Science, Fine Arts, Indian and other Languages, Management, Law, Education/Educational Technology, Engineering, Technology, Commerce, Pharmacy, Medicine, Surgery, Veterinary Science, etc.
Candidates with CA, CFA, ACS, or ICWA along with a basic degree are also eligible.
